This project component focuses on the phenomenon of migration in relation to those who depend on marine fishing for their livelihood. It imagines bringing together a disparate group of researchers, artists, journalists & others to co-create with migrant workers narratives of migrant lives, which go beyond precarity and resilience. They will explore informality, gendered experiences, mobility & such themes through lived experiences and will then connect these experiences to larger global themes. This project is also interested in interdisciplinarity & examine the biases of knowledge producers.
comprises of two sub-projects:
a. Stillness and Movement: An Art Installation on Migrant Lives in the Times of Covid19
b. When Documenting is a Political Act: Migrant Experiences of Lockdown.
